Meet the girl who lives on the moon. Find her between spilt streaks of ink originating from the scribbles in her notebook. Find her admiring the clouds taking on diverse forms above her as she makes her way to her car. Wherever you find her, find her distracted. Make sure her mind wanders to the deepest and darkest depths of her imagination. Notice how it stays there as the clock hits twelve, then twelve again. Engage yourself in her world. Admire the ideas, those that could not have come from anyone else. Discover how her hands move. A motion that transforms concepts into objects, and objects into art. Grasp her essence. Understand her distractions. Become acquainted with her creativity. Meet the girl who lives on the moon. The one whose mind wanders off to places most people never visit. She ponders and thinks, but almost never talks. She cooks up ideas people reject. They say she’s gone mad, but she doesn’t let their criticism stop her. She knows they later begin to love her ideas, without fail. She’s “grounded” and “nice”. She’s also “creative” and “kind”. Indeed, she is bizarre, but she is also unapologetically herself.

Meet the girl who lives in her camera. Find her in between clicks of a shutter button capturing the world through her eyes. Her eyes. Admire them. Admire the way in which they perfectly create a composition of colors and objects, making the mundane seem aesthetic. She presses, and then releases. She creates a tune so unique that everyone that listens will inevitably think of her. Notice how she photographs laughter. The laughter that comes from her friends enjoying wholesome little moments in this journey we call life; those friends whom she appreciates greatly. Her photographs are movies, and the people she loves play the leading actors in it. Focus on her camera and engage in her world. A world full of memories, captured on film.

Meet the Girl who Lives in her closetA portrait by Tania Farah, according to herself
Meet the girl who loves her closet. Look for her in between endless piles of fabric, hanged in unison to create a color coded forest of garments. A forest that has been carefully curated throughout her whole 19 years of existence. Notice the colors, those that transform her closet into a Pantone scale of blacks, blues, grays and whites; even though there might be an occasional red that pops up here and there. You may find her in a band t-shirt, or perhaps a slip dress. Some days she might prefer leather, while others she might dress in floral. There is no perfect definition for her style, only that it’s entirely her own. Notice her boots, those she always wears. They come in every style, height and color; a staple in her closet. Then come the blazers, a collection that has taken years to make. They form a part of her, a relationship kindred to flesh and bones. From the outside, blazers make her seem put together. On the inside, she is actually an impuntual mess.

Those arrays of words that form in her mind as she admires the masters. They spark her curiosity, forcing her to think creatively and try to make sense of the paint that lays on the canvas.
